Keeping, Charles

Charles Keeping (22 September 1924 - 16 May 1988) was an illustrator, an author of children's books and a lithographer. At the Regent Street Polytechnic in London he was taught by Nigel Lambourne and Stuart Tresilian. He first came to prominence with his illustrations for Rosemary Sutcliff's historical novels for children. He won the Kate Greenaway Medal for children's book illustrations in 1967 and 1981.
