Hutton, Clarke

Clarke Hutton (1898 - 1984) studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts and for some time worked with William Pitcher, the ballet designer. In the late 1920s he took to lithography, replacing his teacher A. S. Hartrick at Central as Instructor in Lithography. Hutton was a prolific book illustrator and contributed to several picture books for Puffin and the OUP. He also contributed to Sir Kenneth Clark's Recording Britain scheme.
