The Castle of Adventure, 1st edn 1946 (Enid Blyton)Following The Island of Adventure of 1944, Enid Blyton continued her immensely popular Adventure series with The Castle of Adventure in 1946. The four children plus the parrot Kiki are joined by a gypsy girl, Tassie, and a fox cub for Philip as they encounter strange happenings at a remote and ruined castle. Secret passages are a cornerstone of this series, and here we have them in Spades. Note the super-wide flaps, unusual in this series and changed for later impressions.
